At Taiwan with mina perhonen.

In 2022, the journey of the "TSUZUKU "exhibition started in Fukuoka, Aomori, then arrived in Kaohsiung Taiwan in the end.

The Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts is located in a huge park that is part of everyday life in the neighborhood.
From morning to sunset, the park is full of lives with numbers of people hanging around as well as local animals and natures. Surrounded by this environment, I wished the visitor meet minä perhonen's design with a flexible viewpoint.

Each category can be seen next to others without boundaries, in order to create a natural and intimate experience while walking around the space. When climbing the light staircase, you can feel the atmosphere of textiles with every step moving forward.

From the balcony on the upper floor where we exhibited videos of the "wind", you can see the entire space below.
The video shows people from various cultures wearing mina's clothes in their daily activities, including the life elements such as the sea, agriculture, cooking, Buddhism, and children which is beyond the design of clothes. We found many visitors who stood in front of the video for a long time, overlooked the space, and then went back and forth between each exhibition area.

All fixtures and graphics were locally produced in Taiwan.
I would like to appreciate the team of Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, for bringing this complex design to real with great quality.

The journey of the TSUZUKU exhibition continues to the next.

ミナペルホネンと、台湾へ。

2022年、”つづく展”は、春に福岡、夏に青森、そして台湾高雄にたどり着いた。コロナの状況もあり視察は断念、でもその分いつも以上に会場の環境を調査し、空間を想像して、以前に台湾を訪れた記憶を最大限掘り起こしながらデザインしていった。5会場目にして、ミナペルホネンが殆ど知られていない場所、おおらかな建築ということもあり、これまでより自由な見方や速度で、この展示と出会って欲しいと考えていた。

会場の高雄市美術館は広大な公園のなかにあり、まさに生活の一部という言葉がぴったりのエネルギーが溢れる。朝から夕暮れまで、思い思いに過ごす数えきれない人々（体操したり、踊ったり、昼寝したり、駆けまわったり...）や、動植物たちに囲まれている。そんな場所だからこそ、これまでで最も＜マイペースなバージョン＞の”つづく展”がぴったりきた気がしている。会場を歩いて行くと、それぞれの展示が連なって見え、光の射す階段ではテキスタイルが上の階に導く。会場をハイキングしながら自然で身近に伝わっていく展示を目指していった。

展示半ばで通る上階のバルコニーからは、下の展示室を一望することができる。空間を見渡せるその場所に、”風”の映像を展示した。映像内で様々な文化圏の人がミナの服を着て生活している様子には、海・農業・料理・仏教・子供など、洋服のデザインを超えた生活の要素が散りばめられる。この映像の前で長い間足を止め、再び各展示を見渡す人を多く見かけた中で、改めて”洋服を着る”ことの力を感じた。

什器やグラフィックは、全て台湾で製作した。複雑なデザインを素晴らしいクオリティで実現してくれた高雄市美術館のチームに感謝しながら、つづく展の旅はまだまだ続いていく。
